All parties requesting data that are not found on this web site are required to please complete this data sharing agreement. The form should then be sent to the Data Management Team Chair (see contact information below) for processing. Please provide a detailed description of the data requested (including time periods, study area etc.), purpose, proposed data analyses and any background information pertinent to the request. Please allow 4-6 weeks from the time of submission for your request to be processed. Data Sharing Agreements that lack clarity or detail may delay this process. > Download Data Sharing

> Alberta Caribou Data Summary (pdf) The following document lists all caribou data that exists in Alberta, and all vegetation and anthropogenic data for caribou ranges in the province. The document also contains detailed information on: Data attributes, Practical uses of the data and its accuracy, Time period data collected, Sample sizes (e.g. number of surveys or caribou collared) and Data Ownership. All requests for caribou data (e.g. VHF, GPS or calf survey data) must be referred to the Data Management Team of the Alberta Caribou Committee. This excludes data that are currently available through this website. A Data Sharing Agreement must be completed for requests to the Data Management Team.
Each attached PDF file contains annual information for all caribou herds in Alberta. This includes information on: adult female survival, calf recruitment, finite rate of population growth (population lambda), number of caribou observed during surveys, cow:calf ratios, and details on collaring data. > Annual

The following attachment shows the relationship between caribou herds, ranges and landscape team planning areas in the province. > Alberta Caribou Herds Ranges (pdf) Specific caribou-related operating conditions apply to delineated zones to help mitigate the effects of industrial development on caribou populations and habitat. These zones can be found at: http://srd.alberta.ca/MapsFormsPublications/Maps/WildlifeSensitivityMaps/Default.aspx. These layers are consistent with the Landscape Analysis Tool.
